AUTHORITY & RELATIONSHIP

Remember when God told Adam and Eve in Gen 1:28: "Fill the earth and SUBDUE it?" He meant for us to rule over nature.

So how about the spirit world? Do we have authority there as well? Jesus said in Matt 28:18: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." and in Luke 10:12: "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy" (The snakes and scorpions refer to spiritual enemies.) and also John 14:12: "...whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these..."

The key is faith in Him. If you believe He is the son of God, you already have the authority, because it is part of tha package! Since I have learnt this (not that long ago, mind you!) I have on two occasions used my authority to call rain to a place where it was needed. (it rained the same day) I did feel that God told me in my heart to do it, and I feel that, the closer we remain to Him the better we will know how to use our authority.

Note however that Jesus said that some people will understand the authority in His Name without ever knowing Him. Some people will even drive out demons and do miracles without standing in relationship with Jesus - that is how much authority there is in His Name! But if we don't know Him personally, even if we understand and use His authority, we do not have LIFE. Matt 7:21-22 Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22"Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.

Father wants you to know who you are in Christ so you can stop suffering at the hand of this world and subdue it, as it was intended for you to do from the start. BUT, what He wants more is that you know Him in an intimate relationship. Because KNOWING him means eternal life and that is His greatest priority for you! What's more, within that relationship, you will learn to use your authority in such a way that your works will be even greater than those Jesus have performed...
