DREAM A LITTLE DREAM...

Everywhere in the Bible, we read about the role dreams played in carrying messages to the children of God - think about Joseph, the « steward-daddy » of Jesus, and the wise men who were warned of Herod’s intentions in a dream. It is clear that God speaks to us through our dreams, and yet most Christians do not pay attention to their dreams, let alone interpret the messages they carry! Joel 2:28 tells us that those who have the Spirit of God will dream dreams! Do you have the Spirit of God? Then you should start paying attention to your dreams!

Granted, dream interpretation is not necessarily straight-forward. Unless God gives you a dream that calls a spade a spade, most dreams are based on a secret language, so to speak. Now you may ask me : « Why? »

If God wants to speak to us, why doesn’t He just say it in plain English ? (or whichever language you are speaking).🙄

You see, we are in a war. A spiritual war. And in any kind of war, messages between allies are transmitted in coded language so that the enemy can’t intercept them.

This is also one of the reasons why we should not attempt to interpret dreams through dream dictionaries found on Google or in New Age circles. For one, it’s only Holy Spirit who holds the true key, so other « illigitimite » sources can only do guesswork and maybe even misinterpret the whole message!😕

Fortunately, the Bible tells us that, where the Dream Giver provides dreams, He also provides interpretation! He does not leave us in the dark (pardon my pun lol) 😂 We have the examples of Joseph and Daniel, where great catastrophies have been avoided, or important messages given to pagan kings, thanks to the gift of Godly dream interpretation given to them.

So… how do we know if a dream interpreter is a GODLY dream interpreter? 🤨

Now that’s easy!

  • These people walk close to God. They are passionate about Jesus and will testify of having an intimate relationship with Holy Spirit.

  • They will give the glory to God and not to their own skills

  • Most importantly though, in their lives they will display the character of God, manifesting the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). If they do not live lives that display the presence of God in it, steer clear!

From experience I know that Christians would eagerly ask for a prophetic word, yet request dream interpretation with great hesitation. I bet you didn't know that dream interpretation often gives a more accurate message to the dreamer than a prophetic Word...

Why?

Because the dream is delivered directly to YOUR private “mailbox”, to be specific to YOUR situation and often in a “coded language” only YOU can fully understand!

Christians often complain that they don’t know how to hear God’s voice, yet they ignore their dreams every night! God is delivering us personal messages night after night and we don’t even bother to open them up...😢

Since I’ve started listening to my dreams and writing them down, I have found that:

  • God often answers my questions through my dreams, and guides me into situations where I need Wisdom, in the same way.

  • It’s a safe way of communication between God and myself because it is CODED!! I can't be misled if I'm getting the message first hand!

  • Many dreams have thus far served as prophetic “signposts” that would allow me to recognize the right choice to make in a given situation later in my life, based on what God had revealed to me in my dream beforehand! Not paying attention to my dreams would be comparable to someone who drives off to an unknown destination with neither map nor GPS, AND, on top of that, refusing to read the signposts on the road!

I want to encourage you to start writing down your dreams. Start asking Holy Spirit for the interpretation - you may just start stumbling upon astounding hidden messages...

If you have difficulty though, remember that God has given a special gift of interpretation to some people, so they may GUIDE you into unlocking the code of your own dream sequences. Once you « get » the code, you most likely will be able to interpret your dreams yourselves, but remember that no Godly dream interpretation exists outside of a close-knit relationship with Holy Spirit!

If you have a dream that you would like to receive an interpretation for, you can either send a PM to our Facebook page (The Mustard Tree), or ask to join one of the following Christian Facebook groups where a prophetic team, which I am a part of, offers to help with dream interpretation. Just look out for the posts that mention the « Dream Team ». All communication is done privately and there is absolutely no kind of dream that can shock us. 😜
