THE DOOR TO THE SECRET PLACE

As an ex-charismatic, I have been taught to plead the blood in and over every situation : from sickness to safety! I can’t say that I have ever seen a miracle occur as a direct result of pleading the blood, and it made me wonder what we were missing...? 🤔

Today I was out hiking, talking to God and was stirred to ask Him about that again. I asked: “Lord, what are we misunderstanding?”

Instantly the answer popped into my spirit:

“The Blood’s purpose is for entering in!”

I stood still for a minute to grasp the meaning of these words... and suddenly understood that the Blood was never meant to be pleaded unwittingly left right and center! It had a specific yet very powerful purpose that every believer needs to grasp...

To help me understand everything that was being downloaded into my spirit, I was reminded of the 1st passover, when the blood was applied to the doorposts and they were instructed to enter into the houses and stay under the covering of the blood until the angel of death (the curse) had passed. You see, inside of their homes, they were in a safe place and the blood sealed them in.

Do you see the implication for us?

Jesus’ blood gave to all who trust in Him the right to enter in, into a RELATIONSHIP with the Father, which we could not otherwise have, because sin can’t come into the presence of God. We need to be covered by the Blood if we want to approach Him. And that intimate relationship which is now possible with God is our safe place, where we are kept safe from the curse...!

Relationship is the keyword here. It is from that relationship that everything in life gains new meaning. It is also from that safe place that healing flows forth and all of our needs are met. BUT, relationship with the Father implies commitment. It’s like a marriage-vow : you enter into it knowing that it’s going to require sacrifice, but the benefits far outweigh the eventual “drawbacks”.

Our problem is that we want to keep our options open... and we end up justifying all of our actions forgetting that, in the end, we are only fooling ourselves...

As a student I used to be actively involved in church and church life, but just as actively involved in living my young life the way I deemed justifiable. I prayed fervently for others, pleading the blood everywhere and all the time, but I didn’t have the understanding that I was not receiving because I was asking amiss : in order to ask “right”, I desperately needed the sanctification that came with true repentance! And it took me 20 yrs to figure that out!

You see, the Blood gives us a free access to the most fulfilling relationship with the most awesome Being and a life of true happiness. What the Blood ISN’T is a ticket to freely sin!

The blood of Jesus and the Name of Jesus aren’t supposed to be used as magic wands. Yet to him who ENGAGES them as part of a meaningful relationship, nothing will be refused...!!!

If you realise right now that faith is more something you do “on the side” than a meaningful everyday relationship, then don’t delay - it’s time you go have a heart to heart talk with your Father and discover what He has in mind for you!
