Many people do not understand why it is so important to believe in Jesus. It is because we don't teach the Bible in many schools anymore. I don't say we have to enforce it as a book of faith, because faith is a personal choice, but at the very least it should be referred to as a history book. You need to know the past if you want to understand the present. That is why scientists try to understand where we come from, because theysense it will give them understanding regarding our current existence. If we don't teach kids about different religions and about "the story of" salvation through Christ we rob them. We rob them of the freedom to choose.

I think that, in our day and age, few people seriously doubt the existence of a spiritual world. And looking at world events it is hard to say that there is no such thing as good and evil. The spiritual world dominates and influences our natural world and has its own set of laws. Since the fall of man, those who did evil belonged to the devil and those who did good belonged to God. Actually, it is more complicated than that... Since Adam, the blood of every person born in sin (and that is everyone) belonged to the devil. The only thing that could buy a person back temporarily was the blood of an innocent creature, which is why the blood sacrifice was a common practice in Biblical times. The difference between the blood sacrifice of the jews and the other cultures, was that their system was created by God Himself and with a very specific reason in mind: it pointed toward the salvation that He was going to bring through Himself.

When Jesus died, He became the perfect blood sacrifice that nullified the need of any future blood sacrifices - for those who would accept Him as their Saviour. (If this is hard for you to understand, then watch the movie Narnia)

You must understand what happened in hell when Jesus died. Hell had no authority over Him, hell could not torture Him, because He was the sinless son of God. Jesus didn't go to hell to be torutred, He went to hell to take back His own authority. And it is that authority that He has given us, to those who believe in Him and seek to know Him.

The key is faith, the door is Jesus. Go explore!
