WHEN LIFE IS NAIL-BITING 😬

My tiny has started biting her nails a few years ago and, to help her shake the habit, we bought her bitter nail polish. And to encourage her I put some on too, thinking it wouldn’t bother me since I don’t really bite my nails. Man, was I surprised! Not only did I realize how often my fingers found their way to my mouth, but as soon as I was prevented from doing it unconsciously, my nails started growing out beautifully...🤔
In much the same way, we tolerate things in our life that aren’t good for us and we even justify their presence 🙄 convincing ourselves that we are, after all, still in control of the situation. 😆 What we fail to see, is the harm that those things are causing and how they are keeping us from fulfilling our destiny! The crazy thing is that we WON'T fully realize how much happiness we are sacrificing, until we let those culprits go!
A while ago I have decided that I am going to have new year’s resolutions by way of a change (I usually don’t). But I am not going to try to do the impossible as from January 1st. Instead, I am going to be tilling the ground from now on, removing weed as I identify their presence, in the hope of having a ready field by the end of the year. Then, on January 1st, I will start sowing the seeds : one by one. I won’t rush and I won’t despise the day of small beginnings. After all, I don’t care if I don’t see fruit the next day. I only need to know that I am really doing my best at optimizing my life so that the right fruit will come forth when the right season is at hand...
It takes courage to stop biting your nails, honestly - that varnish is hyper gross! 😂 But once you start making the effort it’s a matter of days before the new habit kicks in. Making life changes aren’t necessarily more complicated than applying nail polish, the hardest thing is CHOOSING to take the first step..!
