WHEN WE DON’T FEEL FAITH

Feelings. Those treacherous bricks we build our lives with! Our days are defined by « how are you feeling today? », yet once we understand the dynamics of feelings, we realized that we have been jeopardizing our potential all along!

As human beings we have a spirit that lives in a house of flesh. As we grow up, we base all of our daily decisions on what the flesh demands: we feed its needs, its cravings, its lusts, its feelings...

and then we become born again.

At this point, according to the Word, things are supposed to change. We SHOULD start living life dictated by our spirit, being guided by the indwelling Spirit of God. Yet most Christians keep right on living in the flesh...

I used to too! As a matter of fact, it´s not that long ago that the necessity of making a solid shift started to make sense to me, but I promise you, it’s a revelation that changed my life!

After learning about my right and capacity to choose and the authority I have in Christ over my flesh, I started winning one battle after the other. One of the first was the battle against PMS (say amen ladies!!). I really used to suffer from pain and moodswings. Now, as soon as I see the first signs of hormonal activity, I take authority over my hormones and emotions and, instead of being irritated, I become extremely joyful! Not just « not moody », girls - joyful!!

Here’s the « breaking news »: Faith is not a feeling, it’s a choice. Fear and doubt, however, manifest as feelings. So when you don’t « feel » faith, what is it you feel? You feel fear and doubt! And the good news is that we have authority over them - IF we decide to live according to the spirit as opposed to living in the flesh.

A prayer of faith therefore does not need any kind of emotion to validate it, it simply needs your choice to trust God and to believe that His Words are true!

Choose today to rise above your feelings and to live the life you were destined to live - one of victory, empowerment and true happiness !
