WHERE IS HAPPINESS FOUND?

What makes you feel really, truly happy? Maybe it is a hobby, a place or a person...? Whatever the source of your joy, if it is something that can be taken away, then you haven't found true happiness yet... Trust me, I have been there and done that, and I am speaking from (even VERY RECENT) experience...!

We often expect people to make us happy, yet, people are fickle... Our (fallen) human nature is wired to be selfish. I know very few exceptions! I myself fail miserably in my quest to love selflessly. You see, we can be everything to somebody for a season, but those feelings will subside or the relationship may end. And then what?

Truth is, we need something more solid and eternal... So now you are thinking that I'm getting religious? Am I telling you to go to church? Not necessarily. Even if that may be a more amazing experience than you may think. Am I telling you to indulge in hours of Bible study? Neither! Even if the Word is real food to our souls and will eventually prove itself to you as a source of happiness...

What I am revendicating, is friendship with a living God...

Abraham was, first of all, God's friend, not his number one Bible study student and not his most faithful church attender. (Not shooting down the latter two but UNDERLINING the former...!) Having a relationship with God, is what it is first and foremost all about!

If you are unhappy and aren't familiar with God, then explore Him! You will be surprised... I know I was...!

If you are unhappy and yet a child of God, then ask yourself if you are having a religion or a relationship... Explore intimacy (interaction, closeness... friendship!) with your Creator, Who has given Himself so you may live a life of abundant happiness eternally!

Last thought: if you are going through hardships, know that I am too... I would be a pretentious prick if I said otherwise...! Don't suffer in silence and don't be over spiritual... Be real! We are meant to help each other through this journey of life, talking, sharing and sustaining each other...
