YOU PROBABLY AREN’T BORN AGAIN... YET

On 3 Nov 1991 I had a supernatural experience that had me running after God since. Those who “knew”, qualified this as my rebirth in Christ. I have believed this for the last 28 years, until recently, when, out of the blue, Holy Spirit seemed to challenge my views.
(Disclaimer: This is an extensive topic that I will deal with in short. Please read carefully so as to not misunderstand. Remember that this is something that has been revealed to ME, for ME. It is not meant to challenge or replace existing “theology”. BUT: to those who are seeking more of God than the average Christian does, this may indeed lead you to being newly - if not authentically - born again ...)
The moment you give your heart to Jesus, you belong to Him. There is no doubt about that. Please allow this truth to sink in before reading any further!
I do, however, think that we have been wrong in labelling the moment of salvation as a "new birth". This may sound “nitty gritty”, but there is a profound truth that surrounds this issue that I want to bring across.
So why do I say that? Let’s start by thinking about the statement that everything regarding this physical world is a “shadow” of the eternal / spiritual/ supernatural. There is nothing that God has created that does not impart a Biblical truth. For instance, Jesus used the example of seeds and their development as wonderful allegories of spiritual truths. Thus looking at birth in the natural, we understand that life doesn’t start at birth. The whole process starts 9 months earlier at the moment of conception. This is followed by a mind boggling journey of development as the foetus becomes mature enough to face, and survive in, the outside world.
Look at this from a spiritual angle, then ask yourself: the day that I have met God, was I ready to live in the spiritual world, the world of the supernatural, to perceive God’s Kingdom (see the unseen...😳) as He told Nicodemus that we are supposed to when we are born again...? (John 3) I definitely wasn’t!
(Take the time to read and study that passage...😉)
Scientists have discovered that, at the moment of conception, there is a little flash of light. (I like to think of it as the “eureka” moment😄) and it can be equalled to that moment when you suddenly realise that God does exist. From that very instance, everything about your existence starts to change. A new heart starts to beat inside of you, and through Bible reading and listening to teachings you start to mature. The most amazing moment of the foetus/believer’s journey, however, is when your ears start to hear the heartbeat of your mother/God. That moment when you start recognising His voice and guidance, and discover that a very personal relationship with God is indeed possible...!
This "event" is a wonderful time in a believer’s life, but it’s nothing in comparison with life beyond the womb...! The way we perceive and hear God is completely different then! And while we aren't "there" yet, we must never forget that there is a greater purpose lying ahead: BIRTH!!
Unfortunately we see ourselves as reborn already. After salvation we simply think that we have “arrived”, whereas it is only the minuscule beginning ! Sadly, very few believers ever come to that point where God had purposed us to come : that moment when we start living IN His Kingdom, while physically still on earth. Why would Paul have said that we are (already) seated in heavenly places, if it wasn’t true...?
A few weeks ago Holy Spirit asked me if I was ready to be born again... At that moment I knew nothing about what I’ve just shared with you. It was as if a big bomb exploded inside of me. I even asked Him what it was that I’ve been doing, then, these past 28 years if I have never been born again?!
That is when He answered me about the journey in the womb.
There is a whole lot to be said about what you will see, hear and experience once you move from a purely physical existence, into a predominantly spiritual one. That is, however, a journey in itself! In fact, it is THE journey... but it is one you have to WANT to discover. If we only live for the journey within the womb, we are like miscarried babies that never reach their full potential...!
I challenge you to ask God to show you where you stand within the process today and I encourage you to press in so that you may experience the true kingdom life that God has in mind for you!
