Let's recap quickly:
- Nobody is born a giant of faith, we need to nurture and grow our faith,
- Everybody has a measure of faith that expresses itself uniquely through each individual. It's not a copy&paste deal.😉 We are all unique, with unique destinies in Christ,
- Your capacity to CHOOSE, is the key that unlocks the door to your journey of faith. Your choice to SURRENDER activates the whole process. It's all about whether you really want it or not.
- Feed on the Word, drink daily from the River and reach for the Son : that is what your maximum-growth recipe looks like!
We can learn so much from children... They throw themselves into the process of growing up with reckless abandon. That's how they learn to walk!! Fear is, like, their LAST option😆, and their motto seems to be "try, try again".
This is exactly how we should approach our journey of faith. Trial and error are part of it. I know that I have added a fair share of personal interpretation to the prophetic words I had received for others, especially in my early years. We must, however, discipline ourselves to only say what God says, nothing more, nothing less.
When you listen to the testimonies of men and women of God who see a consistent flow of healings when they pray for the sick, they almost always started out by seeing only a random healing here and there for many years. How did they get from where they were to where they are now? Easy : they didn't give up.
If you have read this far, you are probably in one of two places right now: either you are already stepping out in faith, but you aren't harvesting the faith fruit that you would like to (yet), or, you aren't stepping out at all.
To those who are afraid of stepping out, ask yourself: what am I afraid of?
Are you afraid that God may not deliver?
Then you have a trust-issue.
How do you resolve a trust issue? Easy! You CHOOSE to trust God and to deny doubt all access to your mind. It's called: the renewing of the mind!😉 The less margin you allow yourself to doubt God, the faster you will start seeing results!
If, on the other hand, you doubt whether YOU have the capacity to step out, the explanation of your problem is fairly simple too: you are allowing yourself to stand in God's way! You are allowing your insecurities to take precedence over God's ability. It may sound all wrong to put it like this, but your choice to honour your insecurity more than God is actually a form of pride...!
Precious child of God, don't dispair! Your condition is once again not that hard to sort out: you simply need to repent and ask your loving Father to help you focus on Him and Him alone. Once again, the solution begins with a choice, the choice to get your priorities right!
Now to those who are stepping out and are not seeing results...
1 - You may simpl still be in the process of learning, and as you keep on practising all that we have discussed, you will most certainly start to experience breakthrough. Value the days of small beginnings, the tiny victories, the small miracles. Remember to be grateful and not complaining, to be positive in the face of disappointment instead of allowing negative thoughts to take over.
2 - It can also be that you are trying to be a sweet pepper when you are actually a chilli pepper...! According to Romans 12, the seed of faith that you have in you, will not necessarily grow into the same plant for everyone. The example of my own brothers illustrates this perfectly:
My oldest brother is an absolutely fantastic teacher and gifted writer, capable of explaining simple truths in a very creative and easy-to-understand way, but he would probably not like being an evangelist.
My second brother is an extremely humble yet very gifted businessman who uses his intellectual capacity to generate finances for Kingdom-related projects, but he would probably not like being a crusader.
My youngest brother is a born evangelist who has a wonderful talent for approaching people and leading them to Jesus, but he would probably not like being an administrator.
Three brothers from the same family who each has received a very unique faith-seed and each has grown to manifest a most beautiful tree that is yet radically different from the other brothers' trees!
In closing, I want to encourage you all to find a way of putting your faith into practice. I recently started a small Facebook initiative where we (a small group of believers) trust God to give us Words of knowledge for people who need His input. These people are almost always perfect strangers. I did doubt when I started out (duh!), but when God responded by providing overwhelmingly accurate Words, all doubt flew out the window! Yet, I would not have known if I hadn't tried, right?
You won't know whether you can walk on water, if you never step out of the boat..! It is time to pull the plug on fear...😉
